18 Hole Golf Course - Course Layout

Designed by Rodney Wright, Tamarina 18-hole Championship Golf Course is unmatched by its layout, location and beauty. This Par 72 challenging course undulates over 43 hectares of rugged savannah land framed with mature trees and crossed by the Rempart River. The landscaping of holes and surrounds has been contracted to an international team and the holes have been specially designed to give spectacular views of Mount Rempart and the towering mountain range. Some holes have great views over the crisp blue Tamarin Bay. Golfers will love the contrast between the rough surroundings and the smoothness of the rolling greens and wide fairways that adds to the experience of Tamarina Golf Course.

Playing 6800 metres from the Professional tees, the course is laid out with standard four par 3's and four par 5's with remaining holes as par 4's. Each hole offers five different teeing options, catering for all level of golfers: Professional, Championship, Club, Senior/Ladies Championship and Ladies tees.

Tamarina greens are according to US specification: they are made of a special imported Ultradwarf Bermuda grass called "Champion" which is used successfully in similar climates in Texas. Fairways and tees are Tif Green 328 Bermuda grass that is used on greens elsewhere in the world. Greens are irrigated with a state of the art "Rainbird" system backed up and supplied by a "Watertronics" pump system installed on the golf course. The landscaping grasses include Fataque, Citronella, Red Grass, Sikine, Vetiver and Lemon Grass. A fantastic 300-metre practice range is also provided with large putting greens and chipping and bunker facilities.

Due to the climate and the nature of the terrain, golfers, villa residents - who are automatically members of the golf club - and their guests are urged to use golf carts throughout the course. Golfers will be shown to their designated rented carts, which are equipped with a GPS system. Over 6km of concrete golf cart paths have been designed for the comfort of the golfer and a refreshment cart is available on the no-stopping course.
