The Villas There are three categories: 2 Prestige Villas suitable for a family or small group of friends, with two bedrooms. They are set back to afford maximum privacy. 2 Beachfront Villas, facing the sea, with direct beach access. 8 Ocean Villas, with an uninterrupted view of the lagoon. They have one bedroom, as do the Beachfront Villas. Whilst many features are similar, there are variations in the designs of the different categories of villa.
Bedrooms The spacious bedrooms are furnished in colonial style, with Chinese, Indian and African touches. Light streams through the large windows, which have wooden shutters. There is an ottoman at the foot of the four-posters and metal lamps by the beds. Blue Chinese ware sits on a period chest, under an engraving of the Mauritius of a bygone age. Facing the bed, a plasma TV screen with built-in DVD sits on a Chinese chest. There is a period-style writing table. The bedrooms of the Prestige Villas look out over the gardens. There is space for two children's beds and a cot. All main bedrooms have king-size beds. In the two-bedroom Prestige Villas, the second bedroom has twin beds and its own en-suite.
Living and dining areas Indian paintings and works by a Mauritian artist hang on the walls, and touches of various continents and periods are scattered around. Features include a Chinese sideboard, an African lamp on a buffalo-horn base, a Chinese armchair and furnishing fabrics with cashmere designs. It is a very attractive space with a set of low tables to relax around and the whole area is open to the paved terrace and the pool. There is also an elegant dining room, perfect for formal occasions.
Bathrooms The black granite colour of the flooring lends a feeling of elegance to the light, spacious bathrooms.
The transparent, round washbasins are set over attractive cane storage units. There is a separate shower and separated toilet.
From the bath of the Ocean Villas, guests can look out over the pool, whilst the oval baths of the Beachfront Villas and the large Prestige Villas' baths are open to the gardens.
Gardens The Villas are topped with a traditional Mauritian thatched roof. Each private garden has a pool surrounded by dark stonework, and an outdoor shower. Large wooden sun loungers are scattered around the pool. There is also a wooden gazebo with a table and 4 chairs, ideal for a romantic dinner or for a massage session. In the Beachfront Villas, the gazebo overlooks an infinity pool, which seems to merge into the sea.
Butler service Butlers remain discreetly available round the clock to pamper guests, helping with the children or pouring drinks or with the hundreds of other things that make for a relaxing holiday.
