The 25-hectare garden hotel lies on a private beach front estate known as Balaclava along Turtle Bay, ideally located between Port Louis 12 km (approx. 15 min.) and Grand Bay 12 km (15 min.), on the northwest coast, which is the sunniest region of Mauritius. The hotel is about 60 km (45minutes) from Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport. New trunk roads provide easy access to the hotel.
'Balaclava' is a historical estate dating back to the 18th century, with fascinating natural scenery. On the northern border flows Citron River, over dams and cascades into a shallow lagoon integrated in the lush tropical vegetation. Mysterious ruins remain to be explored as witnesses of the colonial times.

75 Prestige Rooms: Enjoy the breathtaking view in the 58 m² Prestige room. Elegantly fitted-out with light tone wooden furniture and designed with natural tone cotton and silk fabrics. Tropical Flower & Nature Spa: Nestled amidst the hotel’s 25 hectare garden, “Tropical Flower Spa” is an oasis of tranquillity. The soothing sounds of the waterfall’s cascading flow intermixing with the chirping of the feathered “locals” while private wellness pavilions entice guests to partake in professional applications and treatments.
Those who reward themselves with a visit to the spa are in for something special. After an individual consultation to ascertain skin type, a mix of tropical flowers, other plants, natural oils and scents according to your selection and requirements is produced for your tailor-made masks and creams. A variety of treatments aimed at promoting relaxation and well-being. There is also a special room dedicated to bridal preparations - in addition to head-to-toe beauty treatments, hairdressing, manicures and pedicures, a dressing room is comprehensively equipped to ensure everything is perfect on this most memorable day. Leisure & Sports: Maritim Hotel offers the most extensive variety of sports facilities. Daily activities including games and competitions are available in our weekly sports programme. The Sports team will be pleased to organise individual program on request of the guests. This includes Boccia, Fitness, Aqua Gym, Water Polo, Beach Volley, Table Tennis, Beach Soccer, Archery, Collective Golf Lessons, Collective Diving Lessons (in the pool), Croquet, and Bike Tours (with supplement).
Golf: The hotel has a 9-hole (par 29) golf course, designed by Graham Marsh and the golf-pro. Each hole can be played from 2 different tees. Driving range and putting green. Horse Riding: Located next to the Ruins of Balaclava on the same compound, the Equestrian Centre shelters 8 - 12 horses and ponies. Open daily from 09.00 to 16.00 hrs.
Tennis: 3 Floodlit synthetic tennis courts and rackets are available from the hotel.
Health & Fitness Gym: Located next to the pool, the 150 m² fully air-conditioned gym is fitted out with a selection of modern equipment. Open daily from 07.00 to 20.30 hrs.

Cycling: Bicycle Tours through the Mauritian country side, accompanied by a guide from the hotel. Guests can hire bicycles and scooters.

Diving Centre: The Diving Centre caters well for those adventurous guests who want to see what’s under our warm and clear sea. The centre is fully equipped to take 10 divers on 2 dives per day. Equipment includes tanks, regulators, masks, snorkels, fins, weight belts, wet-suits and stabilizing jackets. Open from Monday to Saturday, 09.00 to 16.00 hrs.
The Turtle Club: Located near the beach in the middle of a safety fenced playground, the kids club is a small house consisting of a game/TV-room, kitchenette, toilet and veranda where hostesses take care of children from 3-11 years. Games, toys, children videos. Children's play ground. Daily children's programme. Open daily from 09.00 - 16.00 hrs

Conference Room: Maritim Hotel specialises in the organisation of incentives, conferences, business meetings and all kind of functions. Most modern standard equipments are available at the hotel. Additional equipment can be rented at an additional cost.
'Maritim' Room: 340 m² (max. 350 persons) A large multi-purpose function room with its own foyer as well as an open-air terrace over-looking the bay. Fully air-conditioned. Foyer: 2 separate areas of 2 sqm each for conference management, registration, etc... Terrace open-air, sea facing (10x5m) ideal for coffee/tea breaks.
Room 'Arsenal': 20 m² (max. 12 persons) A small cosy air-conditioned boardroom, on the upper floor. Well suited for executive meetings.
Room “Balaclava”: 25 m² (max 16 persons) Executive meeting room with direct access to the business centre, fully air-conditioned boardroom with opportunity of day light.

‘Belle Vue’ Restaurant: Open terrace restaurant on split-levels under an expansive wooden roof - Excellent view over the pool and the sea from all tables, the main restaurant ‘Belle Vue’ has been extended to provide a more spacious buffet preparation area with live cooking stations including sushi and dim sum.
Breakfast - Spacious buffet with an extensive selection of hot and cold dishes, home-made bread, tropical fruits, cereals, pastries, etc. Opened as from 07.30 to 10.30 hrs. Lunch: As from 12.30 to 15.00 hrs with buffet style. Dinner: Different buffets, barbecues or theme evenings and on selected days table d'hôte menus with several choice for the various courses.

Château 'Mon Désir' – Fine-dining and Gourmet Restaurant: A new mansion harmoniously integrated in the Ruins of Balaclava; the exclusive ‘A la Carte’ restaurant overlooks the historical surroundings with its Citron River and the Turtle Bay.
The restaurant’s colonial architecture and interior design is a tribute to the island’s colonial past. The restaurant has also a cocktail lounge, wine tasting Room, open terrace, roofed veranda. Dining excellence with International, French and Indian Ocean delicacies.

'La Marée' - Beach Restaurant: Nestled amidst palm trees and right on the beach - Sample an exquisite selection of fresh seafood specialties and other BBQ served in a casual and rustic atmosphere, while you marvel at a magnificent bay view. Mother-nature will not disappoint and neither shall we!
