Seven Coulours Spa - The largest Spa village of the Indian Ocean Dedicated to treating both body and spirit, the Seven Colours Spa, the concept of Véranda Resorts, is an oasis of tranquillity, authentic and refined.
This unique spa village of cabins in ochre tints, draped with gossamer veils balancing delicately on the refreshing breezes... the African inspired décor surrounded by plants, water features and cascades and exuberant blooms of island flowers.
The Seven Colours Spa with a floor area of 3,000m2 has 20 treatment rooms, 7 massage rooms of which 3 are double, and 2 massage kiosks on the beach, affusion showers, steam baths, a huge sauna with a cold water pool, a pool with eddying currents, divans in kiosks especially provided for relaxation, and one consulting room where tailor-made treatment programmes can be discussed. Open daily 9am to 8.30pm
The Seven Colours philosophy Seven Colours is a unique approach in the art of well-being, one which combines ancient therapies, sensory stimulus and bio-technology. This approach is based on the interaction and the balance of energies and colours, on the life giving connection that exists between light and life, between colour and the energy of life...
Inspired by ancient oriental philosophies based on the seven centres of energy - the charkas - 7 colour rituals have been supplemented with art to stimulate our inner resources and to rediscover complete harmony between body and spirit.
Yellow, Orange and Red each comprise 4 complementary treatments : the adjustment of energy, massages, treatment of the body and the face... a complete range of massages, such as the Balance massage (Green), gentle and rhythmic to improve blood circulation, or the Harmony massage (Indigo) which caresses the body with vigorous sweeping strokes.
A consultation forms part on one's first visit, allowing the therapist to define the dominant colour for each client.... their "chromatic personality" and to determine which rituals are appropriate.
The aim is to prepare a tailor-made programme associated with the dominant colours for each individual client, in order to rebalance their energy centres in an environment suffused in positive energy, colours, fragrances and music.
These rituals are associated with a range of Seven Colours cosmetics, consisting of skilfully created mixtures of essential oils from Madagascar, 100% natural and grown organically on the Indian Ocean Island.
Besides the treatments based on the Seven Colours rituals, the Spa also offers totally original massage treatments called "Signature treatments" such as the Seven Colours massage in which hot semiprecious stones are used to stimulate the 7 chakras. This is how our personalised relaxation treatments cancel out stress and rebalance the clients' energy centres".
Golf du Château - A unique golfing experience A new championship golf course on Mauritius, in the heart of the unspoiled south: Fact Sheet Golf See: The Bel Ombre Golf
Attached to the Heritage Golf & Spa Resort hotel, the magnificent 18 hole "Golf du Château" golf course which covers 100 hectares, is the masterpiece of architect Peter Matkovitch, of Peter Matkovich and Hayes the world renowned South African architectural practice.
Situated between the mountains and the sea in an undulating landscape interspersed with lakes, streams and tropical trees, the championship course (Par 72) which is both technically challenging and varied, provides golfers with unique possibilities for a game with exceptional moments and memories.
It presents a real challenge to everyone who plays there, egging them on - whatever their level of competence - to surpass themselves in terms of their technique, their know-how and their skill. The architects of the course have integrated the two water courses that cross the golf course in the most beautiful way, creating small lakes which enhance the demands made on the technique of the players and yet fully respect the harmony and tranquillity of the place. They have also integrated the magnificent Château of Bel Ombre and its gardens into the design at the heart of the golf course.
This course is certainly one of the most beautiful on the island with an amazing view over the lagoon to the south on one side and towards the hills of the Black River Gorges nature reserve on the other, giving players unique panoramic views at each hole.
It consists of 2 loops of 9 holes each. The 9 hole outside loop is 3,210m long while the inside loop is 3,297m long: the 3 by 3 vary from 140m to 200m, the 4 by 4 from 320m to 430m, the 4 by 5 from 490m to 520m. In addition, a mashie course has been created, a 9 hole par 3 course, ideal both for beginners as well as for more advanced golfers wanting to perfect their game. It is sited at the heart of the 18 hole course..
The numerous facilities at the "Golf du Château" include a putting green, a chipping green and a driving range. Golfers can enjoy both their game as well as physical exercise and can opt for either a motorised golf buggy or take an enjoyable stroll around the course. Golf carts and caddies are of course provided for the golfers should they require them.
Two qualified professionals are responsible for the operations of the golf course and can offer beginners lessons which can be videoed for extra learning potential. Finally, there is a restaurant as well as a bar, manned by courteous high quality staff to receive the players for a moment of well earned relaxation after a good game.
Eco Activities - Green Tourism The Valriche nature reserve The Valriche nature reserve is one of the 3 elements that make up the Domaine de Bel Ombre, the other 2 elements being the Golf du Château and the Château de Bel Ombre. The estate has retained an exceptional and unspoiled environment which one can explore and in so doing go back to nature. The Heritage Golf & Spa Resort located on the former land of the estate and affiliated to the Domaine de Bel Ombre offers its guests access to the Valriche nature reserve which, besides the exceptional beauty of its landscape, shelters unique and protected flora and fauna. Sprawling over 2,500 hectares, Valriche is at an altitude of 400m above sea level and has a mixture of dry coastal forest and rain forest. The exceptional nature of the views, the landscape of hills, plains and cascading waterfalls (the highest on the island is here and is 162m high), the amazing biodiversity of flora and fauna (stags are bred here) all contribute to a tourism experience that is in harmony with nature.
Here one can find many botanical species, introduced by the colonists, invading species, medicinal plants, fruit trees, various shrubs, as well as indigenous species such as ebony, wild apple, rosin, tambour (drum) wood and candlewood.
As for the animal life, Valriche shelters a large colony (approx. 250) of fruit bats which are the island's only indigenous mammals. Further there are 200 stags, wild boars, monkeys and tropical birds, including some "cateaux verts", a bird species threatened with extinction and of which there are now only 250 left on Mauritius.
The Concept of Valriche :
- To combine information and enjoyment while exploring the flora, fauna and history of the place in the company of trained guides.
- To willingly take responsibility for the conservation of this natural heritage (only 1.9% of the original indigenous forest still exists on the island) of the place in the company of trained guides)
- To protect and preserve the flora and fauna with the collaboration of well-known Mauritian organisations including the Mauritius Wildlife Foundation (MWF)
For fans of active tourism... In addition to the guided tours exploring the flora and fauna of Valriche, there are also excursions in quads and 4x4s, as well as combined trekking/biking tours, which include lunch or snacks ...
