Water Villa Sunrise:

Swimming Pools:
Laze by your choice of four swimming pools at the Resort.  The spectacular 50m Olympic-size main pool cantilevers over the lagoon on the north shore of the island, providing a view of unsurpassed natural beauty.  Unwind with a drink from the swim-up bar, lounge on the sundeck or in your private gazebo or enjoy a game of chess at the oversized chessboard.  A 20m seawater pool ‘floats’ near the main pool.  Kids will love the free-form children's pool adjacent to the main pool.  A guardian must accompany them if they are under five years of age.  Nestled in the western end of the island, the Blu pool overlooks the stunning 2 km lagoon and is the perfect spot to share views of a romantic sunset.

Tennis:
Take a break from aquatic activities to practise your tennis skills or take lessons from the on-site tennis pro.  The Resort's outdoor tennis court is lit for night play, and complimentary tennis racquets and balls are available.

Water Sports Activities:
At Landaa Giraavaru, unforgettable land and water diversions beckon.  The Water Sports Centre offers a wide range of group and individual activities to suit all age groups and interests. 

• Non-motorised activities such as kayaking, windsurfing and catamaran sailing are complimentary.
• Motorised activities such as water skiing, parasailing, banana boating and fun tubes are available for an applicable charge.
• At the PADI-licensed Dive Centre, a team of experienced, multilingual dive instructors are ready to explore the area's excellent dive sites with you.
• There is also a dedicated surf school with professional surf instructors, which offers escorted surf sessions and clinics for experienced surfers as well as lessons for beginners.

For younger guests:
Whether your family is young, all grown up or at any stage in between, Four Seasons Maldives at Landaa Giraavaru is a wonderful home base.  The resort goes out of its way to make the youngest guests feel welcome, and the resourceful Concierge is always close at hand – to make reservations for a family dinner, offer suggestions for tomorrow's outing or help arrange a babysitter.

Marine conservation activities:
The waters around Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Landaa Giraavaru are home to a breathtakingly beautiful and rich ecosystem.  Below the ocean's surface, precious coral reefs ring the islands, where fish painted in psychedelic colours swim, sea turtles coast and dolphins play.  Whale sharks and manta rays also venture here, to feed on tiny plankton.  Snorkellers, divers and other adventurers hoping to catch a glimpse of these creatures will enjoy more than just a sighting with the Resort's interactive marine programme.  Led by Senior Marine Biologist Guy Stevens and the marine biology team, activities in the programme guide guests through the alluring underwater world around the islands.  Guests will experience once-in-a-lifetime encounters with a variety of marine creatures while learning about their life and habitat, and will even be able to participate in some of the Resort's conservation projects.  Proceeds from all activities support the Resort's Green Fund conservation and marine research programmes.

Marine Discovery Centre:
Located on the island, the Marine Discovery Centre works to enrich the guest experience through education, research and conservation of the marine environment.  It is the base for pioneering research on manta rays and whale sharks, leading to knowledge that will help preserve these near-threatened species.  Marine biologists and student volunteers from around the world work on-site at the 120m² facilities, which features a lab for breeding fish, as well as aquarium exhibits where guests can learn about the centre's projects through interactive educational displays.

• The Marine Discovery Centre is open from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm daily.

Marine life presentations:
The reef of the Maldivian archipelago represents one of the richest marine ecosystems on earth.  Guests who are interested in learning more about the area's underwater life are invited to attend a marine life presentation by our resident marine biologist.  The presentation is offered five evenings a week in Five Degrees North bar and lounge.  The following afternoon, guests enjoy a snorkelling excursion with the marine biologist – a unique way to discover the underwater world of the Maldives.

Located at the western end of the island overlooking a 2 km lagoon, Blu Restaurant embraces the essence of the Maldives as the place where the ocean meets the sky.  From the restaurant pavilion on one side or the Blu Bar pavilion on the other, you can watch the sun sink below the horizon.  The restaurant serves light antipasti, pizza and pasta during the day and fine Italian cuisine in the evening.  Specialties: Contemporary Italian fare is served at lunch and dinner; homemade gelati are served poolside throughout the day.  A children's menu is also available.

Named after Abu Al Barakat Yusuf Al Barbari, a North African scholar who made Baa Atoll his home in the 12th century, Al Barakat restaurant serves authentic Arabian cuisine.  The restaurant is built over water, off the main jetty.  A Shisha Bar is located on the ground level.  The main dining area on the rooftop features comfortable low seating.  Specialties: Al Barakat offers Lebanese mezze, grill items and North African specialties.  Shisha Bar serves Arabian coffee and features authentic Shisha water pipes.

Overlooking the swimming pool and beach, the three thatch-roofed pavilions of Café Landaa are separated by reflecting ponds.  For breakfast, lunch, and dinner, our chefs create exquisite delights with eastern and western influences.  Specialties: Asian and regional specialties from the tandoor and curry kitchen; in the evening, teppanyaki is served at a dedicated counter in a dramatic water garden adjacent to the restaurant (Reservations recommended for the teppanyaki counter).

Located adjacent to the seawater pool and overlooking the eastern coast of the island, Fuego Grill is open for dinner.  The restaurant offers fresh catch of the day as well as a wide selection of organic and prime cut meats, salads, sandwiches and Asian dishes from an open kitchen pavilion. Teak tables and chairs are set in the sand facing the sea.

Lounge/Bars:  

Five Degrees North Bar:
The Resort's casual bar is named for the island's location, which lies five degrees north of the equator. Its nautically inspired décor features a dhoni (traditional boat) as the counter, with a library, pool table and selection of board games for entertainment. The bar also has an extensive drinks selection.
